Export clearance runs through Bangladesh Customs on the ASYCUDA World platform, with certificates and permits now filed mandatorily via the Bangladesh Single Window.

Overview

Bangladesh Customs, a wing of the National Board of Revenue, handles all export clearance electronically through ASYCUDA World. As an exporter (or, more commonly, your licensed C&F agent) you lodge an Export General Manifest and an export declaration (the EX-1 / Bill of Export), attach the commercial documents, and the system assesses and routes the consignment. Since early 2026 the submission of certificates, licences and permits (the CLP documents) is mandatory through the Bangladesh Single Window (BSW) operated by NBR; manual paper submission of these is no longer accepted. Most manufacturer-exporters operate under bond or duty-drawback so that imported inputs used in exports are duty-free. Practical advice for a small exporter: appoint a reliable Clearing & Forwarding agent, get your HS classification right early because it drives every certificate you will need, and register on the Single Window before your first shipment.

Key requirements

  1. 1

    Electronic export declaration

File the Bill of Export / EX-1 in ASYCUDA World through a licensed C&F agent; the system assigns a green/yellow/red clearance lane.

  2. 2

    Bangladesh Single Window filing

All certificates, licences and permits (CLP) must be submitted through the Bangladesh Single Window; manual submission is no longer accepted.

  3. 3

    Correct HS classification and valuation

Use the Bangladesh Customs Tariff HS code; misclassification delays clearance and can void preferential origin claims.

  4. 4

    Bond / duty-drawback for inputs

Export-oriented manufacturers clear imported raw materials duty-free under bonded warehouse or claim drawback via the Duty Exemption and Drawback Office (DEDO).

  5. 5

    Port and shipping documentation

Match the declaration to the bill of lading/airway bill and the EXP form registered with your bank for foreign-exchange monitoring.
