Tax Information
Exports of goods are generally zero-rated for VAT, and various duty concessions and export incentives are administered by FRCS.
Overview
Fiji's tax system is broadly export-friendly, which helps MSMEs price competitively abroad. Value Added Tax (VAT) applies domestically, but exported goods are generally zero-rated, meaning you charge 0% VAT on the export sale and can recover VAT paid on inputs, provided you keep proper documentation and register for VAT with FRCS where your turnover requires it. Fiji also operates duty-concession and drawback schemes so that duties paid on imported raw materials used to make exports can be reduced or refunded. Beyond indirect tax, income tax applies to your business profits, and Fiji has offered export-oriented incentives and tax deductions from time to time, all administered by the Fiji Revenue & Customs Service. Because rates and incentive schemes change with each national budget, confirm the current position with FRCS or a local tax adviser before relying on a specific rate.
